Brand Story – The Meaning Behind Chetan
Every brand has a beginning.
But Chetan began with a legacy of Ayurveda and a deep inspiration from traditional healing.
My journey with Ayurveda started many years ago when I visited the Ayurvedic & Unani Tibbia College in Delhi with my father to meet my great-grandfather, who served there as a professor. Walking through the halls of that historic institution and witnessing the depth of Ayurvedic knowledge left a lasting impression on me.
That day, I realized that Ayurveda was not just a medical science — it was a philosophy of living a healthy and balanced life.
Inspired by that experience, after completing my 12th grade, I decided to dedicate my life to Ayurveda and become an Ayurvedic doctor.
In 1995, with the vision of helping people through natural healing, I established Chetan Clinic in Badarpur. While treating patients, I also started preparing a few Ayurvedic formulations based on classical Ayurvedic knowledge and practical clinical experience.
People began experiencing real benefits from these remedies, and slowly, the trust of patients started growing.
As the demand increased, I realized that these formulations could help many more people beyond the clinic.
This led to the launch of Chetan Herbals Pvt. Ltd. in 2005 on Dhanvantari Day (Day of the God of Ayurveda), where we started manufacturing Ayurvedic products with a strong commitment to quality and purity.
But one question remained very important to me:
What should the brand be called?
After deep thought, I chose the name “Chetan.”
Because the word itself reflects the philosophy of Ayurveda.
“Che” means nourishing or nurturing, and “Tan” means the body.
Together, Chetan represents the nourishment and care of the human body through natural Ayurvedic wisdom.
The name perfectly represents our mission —
to nurture the body naturally and restore balance through Ayurveda.
This journey would not have been possible without the constant support of my wife, who is a qualified pharmacist and has played an important role in shaping the philosophy of our products.
She always believed in one simple principle:
That belief became the foundation of our manufacturing approach.
At Chetan Herbals, we ensure that every product we create maintains the highest standards of purity, authenticity, and trust — something we ourselves would confidently use for our own family.
Today, products like Chetan Sehat Prash, Chetan Memory Prash, Chetan Dard Mochak Oil, and many other Ayurvedic formulations continue this legacy.
